How to join the slack community channel?

I'm unable to join the slack community channel. In the email where I should be getting a code, it says "Is this the right email?
It looks like there isn’t an account on Slack Community tied to this email address." Its not working with other email addresses either. Should I be invited?

    I'll check with the Slack team, but they are traveling this week so it may be a bit before we get back to you.

    Have you tried another email? Or incognito?
